The PRP Method
The PRP Method
PRP (platelet-rich plasma) is a treatment method that introduces the implant area to an amount of plasma with an increased number of platelets obtained from the patient's blood. The blood collected from the patient is placed in a particular device and is centrifuged until a plasma rich in platelets is obtained.
Regarding the collection methods, there are two specific methods; the blood can be collected both in collection bags and in collection tubes. The method of collecting in bags requires a quantity of 150-200 cc of blood, and for the one in collection tubes, a quantity of 8-20 cc of blood. The collection bags and tubes are then centrifuged, and plasma is obtained.
Plasma can be obtained and used in the form of injections, mesotherapy, masks and creams. Our clinic presents both the collection methods in bags and tubes to the clients. Our clinic professionals recommend the method of collection in unique collection bags because the plasma obtained by centrifugation in these bags is much more advanced from the qualitative point of view. This PRP method can be performed in very few clinics, and our clinic is one of them.
The method of collecting in tubes is done by using ozone. In some clinics, this method is overrated and is presented as a miraculous treatment method. Currently, there is no consensus in the medical world regarding the use of ozone due to its oxidant and antioxidant properties. Therefore, our advice is not to trust these recommendations, which are more commercial than medical.
The PRP method can be used for aesthetic purposes in hair and skincare, wound care and other similar situations. PRP will certainly not prevent or improve hair loss, so statements like this are not factual. It should be noted that PRP is only a method that helps treat hair loss. The causes of hair loss are very varied; they can be hormonal, genetic, microbial or stress-based.
